So I did a thing. A statewide thing.
A few months ago, I was asked by a hospital to share my story of finding my BFF of 37 years and Gabby's godmother dead in her home due to COVID-19.
I'm running a business with Gabby, managing my husband's comedy career, and working a full-time job while being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, etc. The LAST THING I wanted to do was be a vaccination spokesperson or poster child.
But I couldn't continue to ignore the requests, especially if something I could say would prevent someone else from experiencing the pain we have felt this year.
This video is being played on television stations and this printed version is in rural newspapers across the state of South Carolina.
Sometimes what we are going through is bigger than us.
Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for us. We are healing and doing what we can to honor Meka and make her proud.
